RedbackBots New Members Day - Semester 1 2026

The 2026 RoboCup World Championship in Incheon, South Korea is just around the corner and RedbackBots are ramping up preparations. There is a lot of changes coming to RoboCup and we're eager to welcome new members to our team to help face these challenges. To kick things off, we're hosting an introduction session to our team and what we do, and we'd love for you to join us.

Agenda for the Sessions:

Intro the RedbackBots: Learn about the team and the various leagues that we compete in at RoboCup.

Q&A: You'll get the opportunity to talk with our current team and ask anything you want to know about the world of RoboCup.

Bonus Soccer Robot Hackathon: Stick around for a Robot Soccer hackathon, where you will see a 3v3 game of fully autonomous robot soccer then get a chance to help code a basic behaviour!

This session is open to everyone, whether you're a seasoned coder or just curious about what the RedbackBots do at RoboCup. We encourage students from all backgrounds and levels of experience to attend and be a part of the RedbackBots team.

Important information:

Bring a laptop: If you want to write your own soccer behaviour, you will need to bring your laptop with VS Code, git and docker installed that you can use to wite code for the robots.

Bring/wear socks: Our robots have sensitive feet! Please be prepared to remove your shoes before stepping onto the soccer field, additionally please wear black socks so the robots don't think your feet are soccer balls!
