about this event

Hack for Humanity | Base44

Most hackathons end with your project sitting in a forgotten GitHub repo. This one doesn't. UNSW's No-Code Society, in partnership with UTS TechSoc, MQAIS, WIT USYD, Enactus UNSW and Softsoc USYD, brings you Hack for Humanity, a weekend where student builders team up with real non-profits to solve real problems, not made-up ones.

No fake case studies. No "imagine a startup" briefs. You'll be handed an actual challenge from an actual charity, a problem they're genuinely facing, and you'll have one weekend to build something that could genuinely help them.

HACKATHON WEEKEND | September 5th - 6th

Non-profit partners will be on-site the whole time, walking around, giving feedback, telling you if you're actually solving the right problem.

Build with Base44's no-code tools alongside teammates from UNSW, UTS, Macquarie, USYD and beyond. Pitch to a judging panel that includes Omer Shai, CMO of Wix. Get mentored on pitch, GTM and UI/UX by our outstanding mentors.

Why join:

Build something that matters: ship a working prototype for a charity that will actually use your feedback, not just judge it.

It doesn't end at the weekend: winning teams get connected with their non-profit to keep building, backed by continued Base44 credits, so your project doesn't die in a GitHub repo.

Meet the people who matter: mentors and judges from Wix, Base44 and the wider startup ecosystem, in the room, giving real feedback.

Get seen: pitch on stage to judges, mentors and non-profit leaders, with the chance to keep the relationship going well past the weekend.

Win a share of a $2,000 prize pool, plus all winning teams get connected with their non-profit to keep working on the project and Base44 credits to keep building post-hackathon. 1st place also gets a chance to become a Base44 ambassador.

Who it's for:

Builders who want their weekend to mean something. No-code beginners who've never shipped anything and want to. Designers, developers and product people who'd rather solve a real problem than a hypothetical one. If you care about the problems non-profits are actually facing, you belong here.

just come, i promise you'll get something out of this experience.
